Stamp Sheet is a stock photo. Plate positions may vary. Sheet Size: 20 stamps, 5 across 4 down History: Many different forms of flowering trees are found in the United States. In the southeastern part of the country is the Southern Magnolia. Growing as tall as 90 feet the hard wood of the tree is used to make furniture and veneer for cabinets and doors. Reaching heights of almost 40 feet, the Blue Palo Verde can be found in the southwest. The Native Americans used the beans as food and the wood for creating ladles. The tallest hardwood of the eastern part of the country is the Yellow Poplar. With some extending to 165 feet, the tree produces a dark reddish honey used mainly for baking. The Prairie Crabapple Tree's fruit is used in making jellies, cider, and vinegar. With heights up to 35 feet tall, the tree is mainly found in the prairies of the Midwest. One of the most attractive trees on the Pacific Coast is the Pacific Dogwood. The Native Americans would use the wood from this tree to make harpoons for fishing and bows and arrows for hunting.
