  • History: This stamp sheet commemorates the bicentennial of the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. The Battle of Yorktown was the final major land battle of the American Revolution. A joint army of American troops led by George Washington and French troops led by the Comte de Rochambeau won a decisive victory over British forces, leading to the end of the war for independence.
